NOAA Marine Survey Research Volunteer

Sept. 2019

Hatfield Marine Science Center, NOAA - Newport, OR

Departing the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR (Sept. 20-29) on the NOAA research vessel Bell M. Shimada, we conducted 24-hour marine survey data collection on 10 inshore-offshore transects along the Pacific coast of the USA. At each station, we conducted a CTD cast, deployed a 0.5m vertical net and 0.6m bongo for zooplankton as well as microplastic sampling at appropriate stations for both my undergraduate thesis and Anna Bolm's Master's research (Oregon State University).
