Dr. Olyssa Starry and Dr. Tina Burdsall were awarded $81,723 from the National Institutes of Health (through PSU's & OHSU's Build EXITO program) for their pilot project "Evaluating the potential of ecoroofs as therapeutic landscapes" in which they will study the health impact of green roofs on hospitals. In the fall of 2018 I was part of their research group exploring the characteristics of hospitals with green roofs; conducting surveys, interviews & behavioral observation of space use; and the impact on cortisol levels before/after presence on the green roof. Currently, this project is preparing for journal submission to Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution.
