I assisted Douglas Thalaker (MS student) within Global Environmental Change Lab, the principal investigator of which is Dr. Andrés Holz. This lab is housed within the Geography department of PSU. Explore Douglas Thalacker’s poster on his research here.

  • Evaluated & researched tree succession on Mount Saint Helens using dendrochronology, vegetation dynamics & disturbance ecology

  • Analyzed & integrated field sample data: measured, counted & extrapolated the number of rings within each tree core/discs using CooReader Software & Microsoft Excel

  • Cut sample seedling trunks into discs & sanded surfaces for visibility of rings when necessary
