  • Assisted concrete construction of remote rainforest micro-hydro tailrace & penstock stabilizers; analyzed 3 types of turbines cast/machined from recycled aluminum at the CREATE Center

  • Used immersion probes/bobber techniques (turbidity, conductivity, stream flow, temperature, pH, DO) for water quality & environmental impact of micro-hydro dam system with eco-activist/grassroots indigenous resource managers

  • Analyzed regional power distribution system off of micro-hydro dams & payment structure among 10 isolated indigenous villages affected by the proposed Kaiduan Dam

  • Discussed social impact on local experiences before/after placement of micro-hydro system with Buyan village systems manager including topics of: Kaiduan Dam resistance timeline, social impact electricity access, labor & organization of system, challenges & supplementary sources

MESCOT Initiative: Wetland Forest Habitat Restoration

  • Attended lectures, Q&A as well as demonstrations on sustainable ecotourism & conservation systems led by the local populations in MESCOT/KOPEL ecovillage cooperative

  • Contributed to oxbow lake restoration by removing the invasive species salvia molesta using mechanical/biocontrol techniques in the lower Kinabatangan, Sandakan

  • Contributed to rainforest restoration through a tree planting program day
