Second half of a summer-season community-science effort, structured by the Academy of Natural Science & Valley Forge National Historical Park focused on developing an inventory of the park’s terrestrial invertebrates. Science communication & all-ages educational events were an essential part of the event along side the 2 day overnight diversity inventory survey.

  • Public Field Work & Educational Hikes - educational walks with the public & field collections

  • Table Top insect displays as science education and interpretation resources for the public

  • Base Camp Lab - microscopy, entomological identification, data management of insect order/species diversity counts

  • Light traps, Malaise traps, Berlese traps, bait trapping - selective public walks to share the trapping systems
